International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 143 represents almost 600 members in the Greater Harrisburg area who work as wiremen, sound and communications technicians, construction electricians and construction wiremen.

PROUDLY WORK TOGETHER

The Local and its contractors proudly work together to produce the next generation of skilled craftsmen who have the experience, knowledge and professionalism to meet the demands of the electrical construction industry. This is achieved through the use of a Registered Apprenticeship Program, which uses the earn while you learn method to produce highly training journeymen.

Apprentice & Journeymen

IBEW Local 143 apprentices work alongside journeymen and are paid a livable wage to learn the ins and outs of the trade while receiving rigorous classroom instruction. As part of their training, they earn industry-leading OSHA safety certifications to help keep them and those working around them safe on the jobsite.

Our Registered Apprenticeship Program

Our Registered Apprenticeship Program assures our signatory contractors that they will employ Local 143 members who have the experience, knowledge and professionalism to get each job done on time and on a budget in a safe and efficient manner.

Through their partnership with Local 143, these contractors are able to adjust not only the size of their workforce for each project, but also require workers who have certain skills or certifications.

This means they have manpower at their fingertips; one call is all it takes to add one or more Local 143 electricians to their labor force. Whether it’s a small commercial renovation or a multi-million dollar project starting from the ground, the Local has the highly skilled electricians to meet their needs.
